JUST IN: A terrifying announcement was just made about Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation that has sent Donald Trump’s White House into panic mode.
The Daily Caller reported that there are four specific questions Mueller’s investigators want to ask Trump. Mueller’s team allegedly wants to ask the president about his role crafting a statement abroad Air Force One that miscast Donald Trump Jr.’s June 2016 meeting with Russians at Trump Tower, the circumstances surrounding that meeting, and the firing of FBI Director James Comey and national security adviser Michael Flynn. A CNN report stated that most of the questions Mueller’s team want to ask Trump are about the firings of Comey and Flynn.
This comes as Trump’s legal team is talking with Mueller about a potential sit-down interview with the president that would include Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ involvement in Comey’s firing as well as the President’s knowledge of Flynn’s phone calls with the Russian ambassador.
Trump, who has often referred to Mueller’s investigation as a “witch hunt,” has been trying to surround himself with the most high-end lawyers he could. This week, he hired attorney Joe DiGenova and asked former Solicitor General Ted Olson to join his team.
Trump blasted Mueller’s investigation once again on Twitter last weekend.
“The Mueller probe should never have been started in that there was no collusion and there was no crime. It was based on fraudulent activities and a Fake Dossier paid for by Crooked Hillary and the DNC, and improperly used in FISA COURT for surveillance of my campaign. WITCH HUNT!” Trump wrote.
