BREAKING NEWS: Shockwaves were sent through the nation when, moments ago, Monica Lewinsky made a controversial statement revealing the truth about former president Bill Clinton.
Lewinsky tried to join the #MeToo movement this week by writing an oped bashing former President Bill Clinton in Vanity Fair. Unfortunately for her, however, she’s already learning the hard way why the Clintons can be so dangerous to mess with.
New reports are coming out, and are likely being spread by the Clintons, challenging Lewinsky and her place in the #MeToo movement. These reports use Lewinsky’s own words from her past against her, pointing out that she has always remained adamant that her relationship with Clinton was consensual. Even though almost anything is construed to be sexual misconduct by the mainstream media these days, the liberal press is still bending over backwards to make excuses for Clinton and vilify his victim.
“Sure, my boss took advantage of me, but I will always remain firm on this point: It was a consensual relationship,” Lewinsky wrote in Vanity Fair in 2014, according to New York Daily News. However, she sees things differently now.
“Now, at 44, I’m beginning . . . to consider the implications of the power differentials that were so vast between a President and a White House intern,” Lewinsky writes, concluding that “in such a circumstance the idea of consent might well be rendered moot.”
The New York Daily News then slams Lewinsky for being a 22 year-old intern who “went after” a 49 year-old married man. If that’s not “victim blaming,” I don’t know what is!
“It was always clear that the 22-year-old intern, not the 49-year-old President, initiated the affair in 1995 (first by lifting her jacket to flash the top of her thong underwear when they were briefly alone in an office, then by seductively whispering that she had a crush on him),” the report states.
Unfortunately, Lewinsky is learning once again just why the Clintons are so dangerous. They have the media completely wrapped around their finger, and anyone who so much as criticizes them will soon find themselves under attack from all sides. If Lewinsky were accusing Donald Trump of these same allegations, the media would have gone the complete other direction and portrayed her as a full-on victim. However, since she is accusing Bill Clinton, she has found herself being vilified in the press yet again.
